Frequently Asked Questions
Why wordpress?
WordPress is a well-known, open-source content management system that’s been around since 2003. For WordPress sites, design and development happen as two separate steps—I design the site then work with a developer for coding and implementation. Today, WordPress is powering millions of sites on the web.
WordPress websites are highly customizable, powerful websites built using one of the most popular, yet also quite complicated, platforms on the web. They can do virtually anything you envision them to, and are the software powering some of the most high-profile, high-traffic sites on the web.
How long will my project take?
Every project is different depending on the size and scope of the deliverable. A simple site with 4-5 subpages could take between 10-20 hours. It takes a few hours to get the mockups started; and building/coding takes the rest of the time. The easiest way to give you an accurate quote is by having a (complimentary) conversation.
What Kind of services do you offer?
I help small business owners create their very first website or redesign their current one. I give web consultations to give a general idea of what my client may need. Many services include: Full website design & development, WordPress build & maintenance, and graphic design work upon request.
what is your small project turnaround?
If all content has been received in a timely manner, the project should take anywhere between 1-4 weeks.
I need help, but my site doesn't use WordPress?
No problem! I have the experience to dive into any web building platform and have the ability to get comfortable very quickly. I will only build brand new websites in WordPress but I have no issues with creating content or updating on other applications. If you are looking to rebuild your current site on WP, just reach out for a consultation.
How do the payments work?
I ask for 50% of the project proposal upfront and the rest once the project is finished. I send invoices through a clients preferred payment platform like Google Pay, Cash App, Venmo, etc.
how much do you charge?
Each service has a base price and is altered to fit the client's needs and the size of the project. Every client and project is different; the easiest way to give you an accurate quote is by having a (complimentary) conversation.
I need a website asap. can you help?
Depending on the project scope and what type and if we go with a simple template, I can process this request fairly quickly. Give me a shout and I’ll provide a clear timeframe.
how do we get started?
- First, schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss problems, goals, and to determine a mutual fit.
- If we are a great fit, I'll prepare a project proposal (complete with goals, deliverables, cost, and timeline) for your review. When approved, I'll send over the contract.
- I'll send kickoff documents and create a sitemap view of the overall project scope. These sheets will list action items and deadlines to stay organized and on track.
- After the contract is signed and the deposit paid, we'll schedule a kick-off meeting to review the goals for the project and answer any questions you may have.
- I'll get started on designs and we'll work together to refine the piece until you’re ready to give your stamp of approval, then I begin to build your dream website.
